Patrick Kearney, M.S., PA-C
Evergreen Family Health is pleased to announce the addition of Patrick C. Kearney, PA-C to its Medical Staff. Mr. Kearney is an experienced provider of primary care for adults and older children. He was born and raised in Ireland and completed his pre-med training at University College in Dublin. He went on to study at the British School of Osteopathy in London, England, during which time he became a Clinical Services Provider at Saint Martins in the Field. After obtaining his BS, Patrick moved to the U.S. and received a Masters degree of Health Science from Drexel University in 2005. He met his wife while in Philadelphia and moved to Vermont in 2006 so his two children would be near their grandparents. Mr. Kearney has worked as a Physician Assistant in General Surgery at Fletcher Allen and most recently as a Hospitalist and Physician Assistant for Family Medicine and Pediatrics at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph, VT.
Molly Backup, PA-C
Molly Backup is a board certified, highly skilled family medicine physician assistant (PA). She has special interests in women’s health, pediatrics, and public health, and she cares for many diabetics and asthmatics. She received her undergraduate degree at Harvard, and her training as a PA at Yale. She resides in Williston with her husband and daughter
James Dougherty, MD
James Dougherty is board certified in Family Medicine and has special interests in sports medicine and preventive care. He was a Chief Resident at the University of Vermont’s Family Practice Residency Program until joining Evergreen Family Health in 1998. Originally from Illinois, he resides in Underhill with his wife and two girls. He oversees Evergreen’s laboratory services.
Jan Ferris, DO
Dr. Ferris is board certified in Family Medicine and has special interests in Pediatrics and Women’s Health. After graduating from Philadelphia School of Osteopathy she trained as a resident in the Hudson Valley in New York. Jan has three boys and lives in Essex where her husband teaches at the high school.
Michael Johnson, MD
Dr. Johnson completed his Family Medicine Residency program at UVM / FAHC in 2005, serving as Chief Resident, and is Family Medicine Board-certified. After practicing in Colchester for a few years, he joins Evergreen Family Health as of February 2008. Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Johnson is proficient in German, having studied several years in Germany. He has training and experience caring for all ages in the office and hospital. He lives in Colchester with his wife and three girls.
Paul Reiss, MD, FAAFP
Dr. Reiss has been with the practice since it opened in 1990. He is board certified in family medicine and has special interests in pediatrics, obstetrics, tobacco cessation, and medical quality management. He holds Added Certification in sports medicine and enjoys working with athletes of all ages. Dr Reiss graduated from Fordham University, then U. of Rochester School of Medicine. He is the office’s Managing Partner, and sits on the Boards of VITL, Vt Managed Care, and Vermont Academy of Family Physicians. Dr Reiss and his family moved to Williston from Burlington in 2006.
Nancy Resi, R.N., FNP
Resi is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Nancy joined Evergreen Family Health in October 2002. She has special interest in geriatric care, neurology, sleep disorders and women’s health. She Graduated from the Masters program at Case Western University, and has worked at Fletcher Allen’s walk-in care center, and neurology / sleep disorders center. She resides in Williston.
